Total Lunar Eclipse
15 April 2014 UT
Tucson, Arizona

The image sequence below, with a cadence of approximately five minutes between most exposures from 1st to 4th contact (rows 2 - 10), was acquired with a Questar 3-1/2 inch telescope (f/14 back focus) and Nikon D3000 camera at ISO 800. Exposure times increased during ingress from 1/1000 s pre-eclipse (top row, approximately 1/2 hour before 1st contact) to 4s during totality, and was inverted on egress.  UTC of exposures given below the in-line image.  Click HERE to see  an illustration of the timing and geometry of this eclipse.
